“Staffan is well known to the Modera team and to many current and potential customers. His strengths include a very good knowledge of the market at the level of manufacturers, importers and distributors, both from his experience working with manufacturers and his long experience in training and advising the management teams of these companies,” said Siim Vips, Chairman of the board at Modera.
With 20 years of international automotive sales experience, Johansson has managed Nissan Motor’s Baltic and Northern European regions. Over the past three years, he has trained teams for BMW, Nissan, and Honda in Scandinavia and the Baltics, and served as brand manager for Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Jeep in Finland.
Vips added that Johansson’s appointment as was well-timed for both Johansson and Modera. Another advantage, according to the chairman of the board, was Johansson’s previous tenure on Modera’s board from 2019 to 2021, which means he does not need a long induction period.
“In the three years that I have not been a member of Modera’s board, the company has taken a big step forward. Our primary goal now is to establish a foothold in Scandinavia together and to expand in other regions together,” says Staffan Johansson.
In September 2024, Modera had a successful bond issuance, raising EUR 1.5 million, which will be used mainly to expand into the Finnish and Norwegian markets and to introduce local integrations in these markets.
Raido Toonekurg, who has been CEO of Modera for four years, will leave the Board of Directors at his own request as of 15 January 2025 to focus on new challenges. Vips said that during the in-between period, the Modera team will be led by Raido Toonekurg, Janek Prümmel and Staffan Johansson. “Initially, Staffan Johansson will guide Modera team and strategy for about 9 months, during which time we will put in place the next steps,” said Vips.
Modera’s digital solution connects the car manufacturer, the dealer, the distributor and the customer into a single whole. More than 100 000 vehicles have been sold through the Modera system. In total, revenues are generated in 15 different countries. In the last three years.
